Dual comparator with a voltage reference built in
The MAX9018BEKA+T integrates two comparators and a voltage reference in a SOT-23-8 package. Open-drain outputs allow wire-OR or level-shifting. Supply range is 1.8 V to 5.5 V.
2.3 µA quiescent — the coin cell can last
Quiescent current maxes out at 2.3 µA across temperature. For a battery-powered threshold detector — say, a battery-monitor that wakes a microcontroller when voltage drops — the comparator itself isn't the drain. The 31 µs propagation delay is plenty for slow-changing signals like temperature or pressure thresholds; the 4 mV of internal hysteresis keeps the output from bouncing on a slowly ramping input, so you don't need external feedback resistors.
Active production, no end-of-life concern
The MAX9018BEKA+T carries an active lifecycle status and ROHS3 compliance. No NRND or LTB flags. For a BOM freeze, this part is a stable line item — no PCN watch needed on the comparator side. The SOT-23-8 footprint is common across many Maxim comparators, so a second-source option exists within the same package family if dual-sourcing becomes a requirement.
Sourcing and fit for the BOM
This part is sourced through independent distribution and quoted to order against an RFQ. The integrated reference and low quiescent current make it a direct fit for portable instrumentation, battery-monitoring circuits, and threshold-detection blocks where every microamp counts.
