The MAX9017AEKA+T packs two comparators and a voltage reference into an 8-pin SOT-23 package — one device does the job of three, saving board area on threshold-detection circuits like battery monitors, overvoltage/undervoltage locks, and window comparators. The 4 mV internal hysteresis eliminates output chatter when the input signal crosses the threshold slowly — no external positive-feedback resistor needed. This is the hysteresis value at the comparator inputs, not the reference output ripple. For a battery-powered sensor waking once a second, the comparator's own drain is negligible against the sensor bias. Rail-to-rail CMOS push-pull outputs swing from the positive rail to ground without a pull-up resistor — the 50 mA typical output drive sinks or sources enough current to drive a logic input or a small LED directly.
