Fixed 1.8V LDO with 300mA output
The MAX8888EZK18+T is a fixed-output low-dropout linear regulator delivering 1.8V at up to 300mA from a maximum 5.5V input rail. Quiescent current is 100 µA typical, rising to 65 µA maximum supply current — this keeps the regulator's own draw low enough for battery-powered or always-on loads where every microamp counts.
PSRR and noise rejection at 1 kHz
Power-supply rejection ratio is 40 dB at 1 kHz — this means the output ripple from a switching converter upstream is attenuated by a factor of 100 at that frequency, cleaning the rail for sensitive analog circuitry. For a 100 mVpp switching ripple at 1 kHz on the input, the output sees roughly 1 mVpp after the LDO — enough to keep a 12-bit ADC reference clean in most mixed-signal designs.
Industrial temperature range and protection
Built-in protection includes over-current, over-temperature, and short-circuit shutdown — the regulator survives a sustained output short without damage, then recovers when the fault clears.
TSOT-23-5 package and board integration
Supplied in a thin SOT-23-5 (TSOT-23-5) package with surface-mount termination — the 5-pin footprint fits standard 0.95 mm pitch layouts and requires no special thermal pad for 300 mA output at moderate ambient temperatures. Control features include an enable pin for power sequencing and a power-good output for reset or sequencing logic — the enable threshold is compatible with 1.8V logic rails.
