5V reference with ±0.04% initial accuracy
The MAX875AESA+ is a series voltage reference from Analog Devices, delivering a fixed 5V output with an initial tolerance of ±0.04% — that is 2 mV worst-case at 25°C, which sets the absolute accuracy floor for any ADC or DAC that references it. That matters when the reference sits ahead of a 16-bit converter where 1 LSB at 5V is 76 µV.
Noise floor and supply current
Low-frequency noise is 9 µVp-p from 0.1 Hz to 10 Hz, and 14.5 µVrms from 10 Hz to 10 kHz. In a precision weigh-scale or data-acquisition front end, this noise directly limits the effective resolution — a 9 µVp-p noise floor at the reference input to a 24-bit sigma-delta ADC is well below the converter's own noise. Supply current is 700 µA typical, and the input voltage range is 7V to 18V. The low quiescent draw makes it viable for battery-operated field instruments where every microamp is budgeted.
Package and mounting
The 8-SOIC footprint is common and easy to route on a two-layer board — no fine-pitch challenges.
Active production status
ROHS3 compliant.
