Charge pump with dual-rail flexibility
The MAX865EUA+T is a charge-pump voltage converter from Analog Devices that generates a positive or negative output from a single 1.5 V to 6 V input rail. Its ratiometric topology delivers a fixed output of either -Vin or 2Vin, making it a compact way to create a bipolar supply or a doubled voltage from a low-voltage source.
Outputs and switching behaviour
Two independent outputs each source or sink 20 mA, enough to bias op-amp rails or power a small sensor front-end. The switching oscillator runs between 18 kHz and 34 kHz — outside the audio band but low enough to keep capacitive switching losses modest in a small ceramic-capacitor layout. No synchronous rectifier is used, so the output impedance is higher than a modern switched-capacitor regulator, but the simple two-capacitor-per-output bill of materials keeps the board cost low.
Housed in the 8-uMAX/uSOP package (3.00 mm × 3.00 mm body, 0.65 mm pitch), the part fits on a two-layer board with minimal fan-out.
