The MAX8655ETN+T: The synchronous rectifier keeps the efficiency high across the load range — the external Schottky catch diode you would need with an asynchronous design is built into the die.

Adjustable output and switching frequency

The switching frequency is programmable between 200 kHz and 1 MHz — a lower frequency reduces switching losses but requires larger magnetics; a higher frequency shrinks the inductor and capacitor but increases the FET switching loss.

56-TQFN exposed-pad package

Housed in a 56-lead TQFN with an exposed pad (8x8 mm), the MAX8655ETN+T relies on the pad for both thermal dissipation and a low-inductance ground return.
