The MAX8601ETD+T: Rated for a 1 A maximum programmable charge current with a constant-current/constant-voltage profile, it charges a typical 1000 mAh cell in roughly one hour at the full rate. The USB interface allows direct power from a standard USB port or a 5 V wall adaptor; the 14 V maximum supply voltage provides headroom for hot-swap transients and unregulated inputs.

Protection and programmability
Built-in over-voltage and over-temperature fault protection reduce the need for external supervisory components — the charger shuts down if the input exceeds the safe limit or the die temperature rises above the threshold.
