Protection and control — what is built in
On-chip protection covers over-current, over-temperature, short-circuit, and under-voltage lockout (UVLO). That means you can skip external current-limit resistors and watchdog supervisors for many point-of-load designs. The Enable pin lets you sequence rails, and the Power Good output signals when the output is within regulation — useful for FPGA core sequencing or reset generation.
Temperature grade and deployment environment
Rated for -40°C to 85°C operating ambient, this part suits industrial control cabinets, outdoor telecom enclosures, and automotive cabin electronics. The exposed pad must be soldered to a thermal land on the PCB; without adequate copper area, the junction temperature will limit output current well before the 4A rating.
Sourcing and lifecycle
The part is available through independent distribution channels; pricing and lead time are confirmed at quote time against an RFQ. For dual-sourcing resilience, check pin-compatible siblings in the same family — same footprint, different current grades.
