Active step-down controller for 2.7-28V rails
The MAX8546EUB+ is a current-mode buck controller from Analog Devices, part of the step-down controller family. It drives an external N-channel MOSFET with synchronous rectification, targeting point-of-load and intermediate bus conversion from 2.7 V to 28 V input rails. Switching at 300 kHz, the controller delivers a single positive output with a maximum duty cycle of 86%. The synchronous rectifier eliminates the freewheeling diode, improving efficiency at low output voltages typical of 3.3 V and 1.8 V rails.
The enable control feature allows the regulator to be sequenced or shut down from a logic signal.
