2 A adjustable LDO with low dropout
The MAX8526EUD+ is a single-output, positive adjustable LDO regulator from Analog Devices, delivering up to 2 A continuous current. Maximum dropout is just 0.2 V at the full 2 A load, so the input rail needs only 200 mV of headroom above the set output voltage to stay in regulation. That matters when the input is a 3.3 V bus and the output is 3.0 V — the margin is tight but workable if the input does not sag under load.
Package, thermal, and board-fit details
Housed in a 14-lead TSSOP with an exposed pad (14-TSSOP-EP), the package measures 4.40 mm wide with a 0.173-inch body length. Quiescent current is 440 µA typical, which is the regulator's own draw independent of the load.
Protection and control features
Built-in over-temperature and short-circuit protection shut down the output before the die exceeds its safe junction limit. An Enable pin lets the system force the output to zero and drop the quiescent current further when the rail is not needed. The output configuration is positive, meaning it regulates a positive voltage with respect to ground.
