Supervisor with dual-polarity reset and 140 ms timeout
The MAX824REUK+T is a simple reset/power-on reset IC from Analog Devices, monitoring a single supply rail at a 2.63 V threshold. It asserts both active-high and active-low reset outputs in a push-pull, totem-pole configuration, with a minimum reset timeout of 140 ms after the supply crosses the threshold.
Threshold, timeout, and output architecture
The 2.63 V threshold sits just below the nominal 2.7 V or 3.0 V supply rails common in low-voltage MCU and DSP cores — the reset triggers before the core voltage droops into undefined logic territory. Both active-high and active-low outputs are driven push-pull, so no external pull-up resistor is needed on either reset line. This simplifies the board layout and saves two passives per reset domain.
