The Maxim Integrated MAX821MUS+T is a Simple Reset/Power-On Reset supervisor IC that monitors a single voltage rail and asserts a reset signal when the supply drops below the threshold. It is designed for microprocessor, microcontroller, and logic-system power monitoring where a clean, glitch-free reset is required on power-up or brownout. The reset output is active low and uses a push-pull, totem-pole stage, so no external pull-up resistor is needed. The reset timeout is adjustable or selectable, giving the designer flexibility to match the downstream device's startup timing. Housed in a SOT-143-4 surface-mount package, it occupies minimal board area and is suited for compact designs in industrial control, automotive electronics, and telecom infrastructure where the -40°C to 125°C operating temperature range is required.
