Battery backup supervisor with a tight threshold window
The MAX808LCPA+: Housed in an 8-pin PDIP (0.300" wide, 7.62mm pitch) with through-hole mounting, it suits legacy or low-volume designs where a socketed or hand-soldered DIP package is preferred over surface-mount.
The 4.675V threshold is set for a 5V nominal supply rail — it triggers a reset when the rail drops roughly 6.5% below 5V, which is tight enough to catch a brownout before the downstream logic enters an undefined state. The 140ms minimum reset timeout gives the power supply time to recover from a transient sag without cycling the system, while being short enough that a full power-on reset completes within a typical microcontroller's startup window.
