LCD bias supply for portable and panel displays
The MAX749CPA+ is a digitally adjustable LCD bias supply from Analog Devices, designed to generate a regulated negative bias voltage for LCD displays from a positive supply rail. Quiescent supply current is just 60µA, which keeps the overhead low in battery-powered instruments where the display bias is always on.
Package and board-fit for through-hole assembly
Housed in an 8-pin DIP with 0.300-inch (7.62mm) body width, the MAX749CPA+ uses the standard 8-PDIP footprint that mates with 0.100-inch pitch sockets or wave-solder pads. The through-hole form factor simplifies prototyping and rework — no fine-pitch alignment, no hot-air reflow profile to qualify. Supplied in a tube, which is the typical carrier for DIP devices in low-to-moderate volume production. The tube protects the leads from bending during storage and kitting.
Active lifecycle and compliance documentation
For a procurement desk evaluating this BOM line, the active status means no last-time-buy pressure and no forced redesign cycle.
