What the 15 kHz cutoff and elliptic response mean for your signal chain
The MAX7411EUA+ is a 5th-order elliptic low-pass switched-capacitor filter with a cutoff frequency of 15 kHz. The elliptic (Cauer) topology gives the steepest roll-off for a given order — expect a rapid transition from passband to stopband, which makes it a strong choice for anti-aliasing before an ADC or for reconstruction after a DAC where you need to suppress out-of-band noise close to the passband edge. The internal clock sets the cutoff; no external capacitor tuning is needed, which simplifies the BOM and layout.
Package and hand-solderability for prototype runs
The 0.65 mm lead pitch is forgiving enough for a rework station or hot-air reflow, and the exposed leads make visual inspection straightforward. It ships in a tube — not tape-and-reel — so if you are ordering a handful for a bench prototype or a small production run, you are not paying for a full reel you will not use.
