8th-order elliptic switched-capacitor filter, 10 kHz cutoff
The MAX7400CSA+: This is a single-channel 8th-order elliptic low-pass switched-capacitor filter with a 10 kHz cutoff frequency. The elliptic (Cauer) response gives a steep roll-off beyond the passband — useful for anti-aliasing before an ADC or for reconstruction after a DAC where a sharp transition band is needed and some passband ripple is acceptable. The switched-capacitor architecture sets the cutoff frequency via an external clock or the internal oscillator — the 10 kHz figure is the clock-to-cutoff ratio programmed by the part's pin strapping.
8-SOIC surface-mount package, tube delivery
The surface-mount footprint suits standard PCB assembly flows. Supplied in tube — not tape-and-reel — which is typical for prototype quantities or low-volume production runs. ROHS3 compliant per the manufacturer's declaration, covering EU and UKCA regulatory requirements for restricted substances.
