What the 4.65V threshold means for your rail
The MAX707CSA+ is a simple reset/power-on reset supervisor from Analog Devices, monitoring a single 5V supply rail. The reset outputs are both active-high and active-low, push-pull, so the IC can drive the reset pin of a microcontroller (active-low) and simultaneously signal an FPGA or system controller (active-high) without external inverters.
140ms timeout — why that window matters
The 140ms minimum reset timeout holds the system in reset long enough for the power rail and oscillator to stabilise after a valid supply returns. For a typical MCU with a 1–10 ms power-on startup, the 140ms window provides margin across temperature and capacitor tolerance. Operating from 0°C to 70°C, this is a commercial-temperature part suited for indoor equipment, bench instruments, and office-environment controllers — not for extended outdoor or under-hood use.
The 1.27 mm pitch is easy to route on a two-layer board — no fine-pitch challenge. Supplied in a tube, not tape-and-reel — factor this into your pick-and-place setup if you are running high-volume reels; a tube-to-tape conversion step may be needed.
