Product details

What the 4.4V threshold and 140ms timeout mean for your rail

The MAX706CPA+: That timeout window covers the oscillator start-up and regulator settling time on most 5V logic boards — the processor stays in reset until the supply is stable. The output is push-pull, totem pole, so no external pull-up resistor is needed. It drives the reset input of an MCU or DSP directly. Active-low reset means the output goes low when the monitored voltage falls below 4.4V and stays low through the timeout period. Only one voltage is monitored — this is a single-channel supervisor. If your board has multiple rails (core, I/O, analog), you need one MAX706 per rail or a multi-voltage supervisor.

Through-hole PDIP — board-fit checklist

The 8-DIP (0.300", 7.62mm) package with through-hole mounting is a standard footprint. The supplier device package is 8-PDIP. No thermal pad or exposed paddle — the die dissipates through the leads and the plastic body. For a 5V rail supervisor drawing microamps, self-heating is negligible. This suits indoor equipment, test gear, and benchtop supplies. Not rated for automotive or extended industrial ambient without a grade bump.

Active production and compliance

No single-source risk — this is a standard catalog part with multiple supply paths.
