Supervisor IC with battery-backup logic
The MAX690ACSA+ is a 1-channel battery-backup supervisor IC from Analog Devices, monitoring a single voltage rail at a 4.65V threshold. When the monitored supply drops below this level, the active-low reset output (push-pull, totem-pole) asserts and holds for a minimum of 140 ms after the supply recovers — long enough for a downstream microcontroller or processor to complete an orderly power-down or restart sequence. The 4.65V threshold is typical for supervising a 5V rail with a brownout margin of roughly 350 mV before the reset triggers — a common fit for legacy 5V logic or mixed-signal boards where the processor needs a clean reset on supply dropout.
