What this supervisor does on your board
The MAX6866UK16D3S+T is a single-channel voltage supervisor from Maxim Integrated — a simple reset/power-on reset device that monitors a 1.575V threshold rail and holds the reset output low for a minimum of 150ms after the supply rises above that threshold. The push-pull output drives the reset line directly, no external pull-up needed. This is the part you drop onto a 1.8V or 1.5V core supply to sequence an MCU, FPGA, or SoC cleanly at power-up.
1.575V threshold — what it covers
The 1.575V threshold sits between the 1.5V and 1.8V nominal supply rails common in low-voltage digital cores. If your monitored rail dips below that level — brownout, sag, or slow ramp — the reset asserts active low and stays asserted through the 150ms timeout after recovery. That timeout gives the supply and oscillator time to stabilise before the processor starts executing code.
Package and temperature range
Housed in a SOT-23-5 surface-mount package, it operates from -40°C to 85°C.
Sourcing and lifecycle
ROHS3 compliant. No direct pin-compatible second source is listed in the official cross-reference, but the SOT-23-5 supervisor market is dense — if you need a dual-source option, we can qualify a same-function sibling against your threshold and timeout requirements.
