Dual-rail supervision with independent thresholds
The MAX6831SVUT+T is a multi-voltage supervisor from Analog Devices that monitors two supply rails and asserts a single active-low reset output when either voltage falls below its respective threshold. The two monitored thresholds are 1.575 V and 2.93 V, covering common low-voltage core and I/O rails in mixed-voltage systems. The reset output is open-drain, active-low, with a minimum reset timeout of 140 ms after all monitored voltages rise above threshold. This gives the downstream processor or FPGA time to stabilize before the reset is released.
The SOT-23-6 package (supplier device package SOT-6) is a common footprint for space-constrained boards, and the surface-mount profile suits automated assembly lines. The 140 ms minimum reset timeout is long enough to ride through supply brownouts from inductive load switching or hot-plug events, yet short enough that the system does not sit in reset for an entire power-up sequence.
