Dual-rail supply from a single input
The MAX680ESA+ is a charge pump DC-DC converter that generates a regulated ±2Vin output from a single 2 V to 6 V input rail — it creates a bipolar supply without a transformer or inductor. The 8 kHz switching frequency keeps conducted noise relatively low compared to a 100 kHz+ switcher, but the ripple amplitude at the output is set by the flying capacitor value and the load current — a post-filter stage is the normal practice when feeding an analog front-end.
Package and board-fit constraints
The tube shipping format means the parts arrive aligned and oriented for pick-and-place, though the tube count per reel should be confirmed with the supplier for volume planning.
