Dual-channel temperature monitor with integrated fan drive
The MAX6639AEE+T is a two-channel temperature monitor and fan-speed controller with an internal temperature sensor and a remote-diode input. It reports local temperature to ±2°C maximum accuracy and remote temperature to ±1°C maximum accuracy. Communication is over I²C/SMBus.
Supply range and temperature grade
Runs on a 3V to 3.6V rail — common for 3.3V logic domains — and is specified for the full industrial ambient range of -40°C to 125°C. The remote sensor can monitor a hot spot up to 150°C, so it handles the exhaust side of a crowded chassis or a heatsink-mounted power device without the local die seeing that heat directly.
Package and mounting
Supplied in a 16-lead SSOP (3.90 mm body width) or the functionally identical 16-QSOP supplier device package, both surface-mount. Cut Tape is also available for prototype or low-volume builds.
Lifecycle and compliance
Listed as active in production with ROHS3 compliance. There is no last-time-buy or NRND notice on this part, so it remains eligible for new designs and production BOMs without an obsolescence watch.
