Step-up charge pump for 12V bias rails
The MAX662AESA+: The 500kHz switching frequency keeps the external flying capacitors small — typical applications use a single 1µF ceramic on the input and output without needing an inductor. The 30mA output ceiling suits low-power bias supplies: programming voltage for serial EEPROMs, gate-drive boost for N-channel MOSFETs in a low-side switch, or a clean 12V reference for an analog front-end. The charge-pump topology means no magnetic components, saving board space and eliminating radiated EMI from an inductor.
Housed in an 8-SOIC (0.154" width, 3.90mm body) — the standard narrow SOIC footprint shared by hundreds of logic and linear parts. The charge-pump efficiency holds across the full temperature band; the output voltage regulation is maintained down to the minimum 4.5V input.
ROHS3 compliant — the '+' suffix on the order code confirms lead-free and halogen-free construction, which means it passes into EU and UKCA markets without a RoHS exemption claim.
