Dual-channel temperature monitor with integrated fan control
The MAX6615AEE+T from Maxim Integrated is a temperature monitor and fan controller that combines an ADC, a PWM generator, and a tachometer counter in a single 16-QSOP package. It monitors its own die temperature and an external diode-connected transistor, reporting readings over an SMBus interface. The ±4°C maximum accuracy covers the full -40°C to 125°C operating range, making it suitable for server racks, telecom enclosures, and industrial equipment where closed-loop fan speed regulation keeps thermal noise down and MTBF up.
What the ±4°C accuracy means for your BOM
The ±4°C maximum error is the total uncalibrated accuracy over the entire -40°C to 125°C range. That is wide enough for fan-speed ramping and overtemperature alarms.
Package and ordering options
Supplied in a 16-pin QSOP (3.90 mm body width), surface-mount only. Cut Tape (CT) is also listed for prototype or small-batch builds.
Lifecycle and compliance
ROHS3 compliant, no exemptions expiring. For a BOM freeze or a long-life industrial design, this part carries no near-term obsolescence risk.
