What this reset IC does and where it fits
The Analog Devices MAX6422US33+T is a simple reset/power-on reset IC that monitors a single 3.3 V supply rail and asserts an active-high reset signal when the voltage drops below the threshold. The push-pull, totem-pole output drives the reset input of an MCU, FPGA, or SoC directly without an external pull-up resistor. The reset timeout is adjustable or selectable via an external capacitor, giving the designer control over the delay before the part releases the reset after the supply returns. Rated for -40°C to 125°C, it suits industrial motor drives, automotive engine-control modules, and outdoor telecom gear where the ambient temperature swings wide.
Package and mounting
Housed in a SOT-143-4 surface-mount package (TO-253-4 equivalent). Four pins — supply, ground, reset output, and the capacitor-adjust pin for the timeout. The small footprint fits tight layouts on mixed-signal boards or multi-rail power-management sections.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
Listed as Active in production, ROHS3 compliant. No last-time-buy or obsolescence risk for new designs.
