Automotive AEC-Q100 qualification
The AEC-Q100 qualification means this part has passed the stress tests required for automotive-grade components: temperature cycling, high-temperature operating life, ESD, and latch-up. For a design targeting production vehicles, this qualification is a non-negotiable gate. The -40°C to 125°C operating range covers the full automotive temperature envelope, including under-hood and engine-bay environments where commercial-grade parts would drift out of specification or fail.
SC-70-3 package and Open Drain output
The SC-70-3 (SOT-323) package is a compact 3-pin surface-mount footprint. It fits tight PCB layouts. The Open Drain output requires an external pull-up resistor to the supply rail you want the reset signal referenced to.
Lifecycle and sourcing reality
There is no LTB or NRND flag on this part. Because it is an active part with no end-of-life signal, there is no urgency to qualify a second source for the BOM — but if dual-sourcing is a requirement for your production line, the MAX6383 family includes multiple threshold-voltage variants in the same SC-70-3 footprint that could serve as cross-ship alternatives with a BOM change to the threshold spec.
