4V threshold supervisor for 5V rails
The MAX6348UR40+T is a single-voltage reset IC from Analog Devices (formerly Maxim) that monitors a supply rail and asserts a reset signal when the voltage drops below 4.00V. It is a Simple Reset/Power-On Reset type — no adjustable delay, no watchdog, just a clean power-good flag for the processor or FPGA. The active-low, open-drain output lets you wire-OR multiple reset sources or pull up to a different logic level, handy in mixed-voltage designs. Reset timeout is a minimum of 100ms, long enough to let the main supply and oscillator stabilize before the CPU starts executing. The SOT-23-3 package fits tight layouts, and the -40°C to 85°C range covers industrial control, telecom, and outdoor equipment.
Open-drain output — wired-OR and level translation
The open-drain output allows the reset line to be shared with other open-drain devices. The pull-up resistor can connect to a different supply than VCC.
Active lifecycle — no LTB pressure
The MAX6348UR40+T carries an Active lifecycle status. No last-time-buy clock is ticking, so it is safe to qualify into a new BOM or replenish an existing line without worrying about an imminent EOL notice. ROHS3 compliance is confirmed, so it meets the latest EU restriction requirements.
