Precision reference for field swaps and industrial rails
The Maxim MAX6325ESA+T is a series, buried-Zener voltage reference that spits out a fixed 2.5V with ±0.04% initial tolerance and a temperature coefficient of 1.5ppm/°C over the -40°C to 85°C industrial range. That buried-Zener topology keeps noise low—1.5µVp-p from 0.1Hz to 10Hz and 1.3µVrms from 10Hz to 10kHz—so it fits ADC references, precision regulators, and instrumentation loops where a bandgap reference would drift too much. Input range runs 8V to 36V, which means it can sit on a 24V industrial bus or an unregulated supply without a preregulator.
What the ratings mean for your BOM
The ±0.04% tolerance is the headline number: at 2.5V that is ±1 mV maximum error at 25°C, which sets the floor for your system accuracy. The 1.5ppm/°C drift means over the full -40°C to 85°C swing the output shifts less than about 0.5 mV—tight enough for a 12-bit ADC without extra calibration. Output is rated for 15 mA, so it can drive a reference buffer or a small load directly. Supply current is 3 mA typical, which matters if you are running off a battery or a tight power budget.
Package and handling in the field
It comes in an 8-SOIC package (3.90 mm width), surface-mount, so it is a standard rework part—no hot-air station needed if you have a good soldering iron and tweezers. The Tape & Reel or Cut Tape options mean you can grab a few for the field kit without ordering a full reel. No lab bench required, just a steady hand and a clean tip.
Lifecycle and sourcing reality
That means you can design it in without worrying about a last-time-buy window closing. No stock promises here—just a straight answer on what it costs and when it ships when you ask.
