Noise and supply current — the quiet side of the BOM
For a 1.25 V reference feeding a 16-bit SAR ADC with a 5 V full-scale range, that noise contribution is about 0.2 LSB at the converter input — negligible for most precision measurement chains. The reference itself draws only 35 µA quiescent supply current, so it adds minimal thermal load in a battery-powered or densely populated board.
Output drive and input range
The series topology can source up to 500 µA to an external load — enough to bias the reference input of one or two ADCs plus a buffer amplifier. The 8-SOIC package (3.90 mm width) fits standard surface-mount assembly; the tube delivery suits low-to-medium volume production runs.
