Precision 5V reference for analog signal chains
The MAX6143BASA50+ is a 5V series voltage reference from Analog Devices with a tight ±0.1% initial tolerance and a temperature coefficient of 10ppm/°C, making it suitable for biasing ADCs, DACs, and sensor front-ends where drift over temperature matters more than the absolute starting point. Output noise is specified at 9µVp-p from 0.1Hz to 10Hz and 14.5µVrms from 10Hz to 10kHz — the low-frequency flicker noise dominates the DC accuracy, while the wideband figure sets the floor for AC-coupled measurements.
Supply range and thermal envelope
Input voltage spans 7V to 40V, so the reference can be powered from a 12V or 24V industrial rail without an additional pre-regulator, as long as the dropout headroom between input and 5V output is maintained. Output current capability is 30 mA, enough to bias multiple ADC reference inputs or a precision DAC's reference buffer; the supply current drawn by the reference itself is only 700µA, so the quiescent penalty is low in battery-powered systems.
