Precision reference for ADC biasing and measurement chains
The MAX6126BASA41+ is a 4.096 V series voltage reference from Analog Devices in an 8-pin SOIC package. The ±0.06% initial accuracy means the output is within 2.5 mV of 4.096 V without any external trim — enough to skip the calibration pot on a production board if the system budget allows.
Noise floor and output drive
At 10 mA output current, it can bias multiple ADC reference inputs or a small sensor bridge without a buffer, though the 725 µA supply current is the load on the input rail, not the output draw. Input voltage range of 4.3 V to 12.6 V gives headroom for a 5 V or 12 V rail, but the dropout is about 200 mV at the low end — if the input rail dips below 4.3 V, the reference drops out of regulation and the ADC starts seeing garbage. The series topology means the load current comes from the input, not from a buried zener, so the output stays clean even with a varying supply.
Package and board integration
The surface-mount body sits low enough that a conformal coating pass over the board won't wick under the part if the dispense profile is tight. Supplied in tube — not tape-and-reel — so it arrives in an antistatic tube that feeds into a pick-and-place tray without a reel change. For a rework bench, the tube keeps the parts organized and ESD-safe until they hit the hot-air station.
