Package and board-fit: 40-TQFN with exposed paddle
The MAX5853ETL+ ships in a 40-lead WFQFN with an exposed pad, supplier package designated 40-TQFN (6x6 mm). Surface-mount assembly with a tube shipping medium — the tube protects the leads during handling but the MSL floor life should be verified on the reel or tube label before the bake decision. The 6x6 mm footprint with 0.5 mm pitch QFN lands is routable on a 4-layer board without microvias.
Dual 10-bit current-steering DAC core
Two independent 10-bit D/A converters with current-steering architecture and unbuffered current output — the raw output is a current sink that must be converted to a voltage through an external I/V resistor or op-amp stage. The 12 µs typical settling time to ±0.5 LSB sets the per-channel update rate ceiling: at 12 µs the maximum update frequency is roughly 83 kHz, adequate for audio-rate waveform generation, servo setpoint ramps, or closed-loop control loops in industrial automation. Integral nonlinearity is ±0.25 LSB typical and differential nonlinearity is ±0.2 LSB typical — these figures indicate the DAC is monotonic by design and the transfer curve stays within a quarter-LSB of ideal across the full 10-bit range. The differential output option doubles the effective resolution in a balanced signal chain by cancelling common-mode noise on the analog supply and ground.
