8-bit dual DAC with I²C interface
The MAX5820MEUA+T is an 8-bit dual voltage-output DAC from Analog Devices, built on a String DAC architecture. Settling time is 12 µs typical, fast enough for closed-loop trim or set-point updates in a control loop without starving the downstream ADC. The I²C data interface keeps the pin count low — only two bus lines plus the reference input. INL and DNL are both ±0.5 LSB maximum, guaranteeing monotonic output across the 8-bit range. That matters when the DAC drives a valve or a bias voltage where a non-monotonic step could cause a reversal in the controlled variable.
Pin 1 is marked by a dot on the package top; the orientation is unambiguous under a scope. The package is ROHS3 compliant. The part survives a hot-air rework cycle if the pad layout is clean — lift the part, not the pad.
ROHS3 compliance is confirmed.
