The MAX5812LEUT+T is a 12-bit, single-channel, voltage-output DAC from Analog Devices using a string architecture and a buffered output stage. It communicates over an I2C interface and settles to within 1 LSB in 12 µs — fast enough for closed-loop setpoint control in industrial sensor transmitters or power-supply margining, where the update rate is typically in the low kilohertz range. The reference type is supply-referenced, meaning the output voltage span tracks the supply rail — a 5 V supply gives a 0–5 V output range, while a 3.3 V rail gives a 0–3.3 V range. INL is ±2 LSB max and DNL is ±1 LSB max, guaranteeing monotonicity across the full 12-bit code range. For a 5 V reference, ±1 LSB DNL corresponds to 1.22 mV step-size error — the output never skips a code, which matters for applications like programmable voltage references or bias trimming where every step must be reachable.
