RS562 transceiver in 28-SSOP
The MAX560CAI+ is an RS562 full-duplex transceiver from Analog Devices, packing 4 drivers and 5 receivers into a 28-SSOP package.
Supply rails and signal count
Four drivers and five receivers on a single 3V to 3.6V rail — the 4/5 split means one more receiver than transmitter, useful for handshake or status lines in a point-to-multipoint RS562 bus. Full-duplex operation lets both driver and receiver pairs run simultaneously, so the transceiver handles bidirectional traffic without direction-switching overhead. The 300 mV receiver hysteresis filters out noise on the differential lines, reducing false edge triggers on a bus with moderate cable lengths or electrically noisy surroundings.
Package and board-fit
Housed in a 28-SSOP (0.209", 5.30mm width) surface-mount package, with the supplier device package also listed as 28-SSOP — the same footprint, no ambiguity between SSOP and TSSOP variants. Supplied in tube format; the 0.65 mm typical lead pitch of a 28-SSOP requires a standard fine-pitch solder profile and a clean stencil aperture for the gull-wing leads.
RoHS3 compliant (2011/65/EU + 2015/863), so it meets the current EU restriction on hazardous substances without a lead-finish exemption.
