12-bit SPI DAC — settling time and package fit
The MAX551AEUB+ is a single-channel, 12-bit digital-to-analog converter with a current-unbuffered output and R-2R ladder architecture. It communicates over an SPI data interface, settling to within ±0.5 LSB INL/DNL in 1 µs — fast enough for closed-loop control loops updating at hundreds of kHz. Housed in a 10-pin TFSOP/MSOP package (3.00 mm body width), it mounts on the board as a 10-uMAX/uSOP footprint. Supply rails are clean: both analog and digital sections run from a single 5 V rail. The external reference pin lets you set the full-scale output voltage independent of the supply, which is useful when the DAC drives a downstream circuit with a different voltage ceiling.
The package ships in tubes, which is the standard delivery format for this MSOP body size.
