What the MAX5497ETE+ is and where it fits
The Analog Devices MAX5497ETE+ is a dual-channel digital potentiometer (rheostat configuration) with 1024 tap positions per channel and a 50kΩ end-to-end resistance. It communicates over an SPI interface and stores the wiper setting in non-volatile memory, so the programmed resistance value is retained at power-up without a separate EEPROM or microcontroller intervention. The linear taper makes it a natural fit for precision voltage-divider networks, programmable gain amplifiers, and calibration trim circuits where the resistance change per step is constant across the range.
Supply range and temperature grade — what they mean for the BOM
The supply voltage accepts a single 2.7 V to 5.25 V rail or dual ±2.5 V to ±5.25 V supplies. The -40°C to 85°C industrial temperature range and 35 ppm/°C temperature coefficient suit calibration and trimming loops.
Package and footprint
Housed in a 16-pin TQFN (5x5 mm) with an exposed pad for thermal management, the MAX5497ETE+ is a surface-mount part. The supplier device package is 16-TQFN (5x5).
Sourcing and lifecycle
The MAX5497ETE+ carries an Active product status and is ROHS3 compliant.
