Active 8-bit DAC with dual channels and SPI
The MAX548ACUA+ is an 8-bit, dual-channel voltage-output DAC from Analog Devices, built on an R-2R ladder architecture. It settles to within 1 LSB in 4 µs typical — fast enough for closed-loop trim or set-point control in a microcontroller-based system.
Accuracy and output drive
The unbuffered voltage output means the DAC's output impedance is the R-2R network itself; the load impedance must be high enough not to pull the output below 1 LSB of accuracy. Each of the two DACs can be updated independently via SPI, and the supply-referenced architecture eliminates the need for an external voltage reference.
