What this FleaPoT™ digital pot does
The MAX5462EXT+T is a single-channel, 32-tap digital potentiometer in the FleaPoT™ series, configured as a rheostat with a linear taper and 100kΩ end-to-end resistance.
Interface and control
The up/down interface uses two pins: chip select (CS) and up/down (U/D). Toggling CS low enables the device; the U/D pin direction determines whether the wiper moves up or down one tap per clock pulse. This is a simple, low-pin-count control scheme suitable for microcontrollers with limited GPIO or for manual trim adjustment. No SPI or I²C bus is needed, which simplifies firmware and saves board area.
