16-bit precision DAC with SPI interface
The MAX542BCSD+: It settles to within 1 LSB in 1 µs typical, making it suitable for precision control loops and waveform generation where monotonicity and low glitch matter. Data is written via an SPI-compatible serial interface, which keeps the pin count low and simplifies isolation in noisy environments. The reference is external, so the full-scale output range is set by the voltage applied to the REF pin.
Supply rails and temperature range
Both the analog and digital supply rails are tied to a single 5 V supply, simplifying the power tree. Integral and differential nonlinearity are each specified at ±0.5 LSB maximum, guaranteeing monotonic performance across the full 16-bit range without missing codes.
Package and board integration
The supplier device package is 14-SOIC, and the part ships in tubes.
