Audio-grade digital pot with logarithmic taper
The Maxim Integrated MAX5410EEE+ is a dual-channel digital potentiometer with a logarithmic taper, 10kΩ end-to-end resistance, and 32 wiper taps per channel. The logarithmic taper is designed for audio volume and gain control applications where the human ear's logarithmic response is matched by a log-taper attenuator. The part communicates via an SPI interface and includes mute and zero-cross sense features to reduce audible clicks during wiper transitions. Housed in a 16-QSOP package (3.90 mm width), it operates over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
Key ratings and what they mean for your BOM
The 32 taps per channel give a step per tap in a log-scale volume control. The 10kΩ end-to-end resistance is a standard value for audio line-level signal paths.
Active lifecycle — no supply chain urgency
The MAX5410EEE+ is listed as Active and current production. There is no NRND or EOL flag, so it is safe to specify for new designs and production builds without LTB risk. RoHS3 compliant per the current directive.
