The MAX5351BEUA+ is a 13-bit digital-to-analog converter from Analog Devices that delivers a voltage-buffered output. Its 16 µs typical settling time means the output reaches within 1/2 LSB of the final value in that window — the update rate for a closed-loop control or waveform generation application is bounded by this figure, not the SPI clock. The R-2R ladder architecture keeps the code-to-voltage transfer monotonic in most designs, though the ±2 LSB max INL and ±1 LSB max DNL define the absolute accuracy budget. For a 0-to-3.3 V output span, 1 LSB is roughly 403 µV; the DNL spec guarantees no missing codes across the full 8192-step range.
Supply and interface requirements
The SPI data interface handles the digital input; the reference is external, so the output full-scale voltage equals the reference voltage applied to the REF pin. The 8-uMAX/uSOP package is a 3 mm × 3 mm body with 0.65 mm pin pitch — a two-layer PCB can route the supply, SPI lines, and output trace without a via farm. The surface-mount footprint matches the standard MSOP-8 land pattern.
