What this DAC does and where it fits
The Maxim Integrated MAX532BCWE+ is a 12-bit, dual-channel, voltage-output digital-to-analog converter built on an R-2R ladder architecture. It communicates over an SPI data interface and settles to within ±1 LSB INL/DNL in 2.5 µs typical. The analog supply range of ±11.4 V to ±16.5 V gives the output swing headroom for industrial control loops, waveform generation, and automated test equipment signal chains. The 16-SOIC wide-body package (7.50 mm width) fits standard analog footprints, and the 0°C to 70°C commercial temperature grade covers bench instrumentation, lab gear, and indoor control panels.
Supply headroom and output swing
The ±11.4 V to ±16.5 V analog supply range requires dual rails; the part does not run on a single positive rail. The external reference sets the full-scale voltage.
Package and handling
The 16-SOIC (0.295-inch body width, 7.50 mm) is a standard wide-body SOIC footprint. The tube shipment is fine for bench builds but for reflow assembly you will want to transfer to tape-and-reel — confirm with your distributor at quote time. The surface-mount package is compatible with lead-free reflow profiles; the part is ROHS3 compliant.
