16-bit precision DAC with fast settling
The MAX5216GUA+ is a single-channel 16-bit voltage-output DAC in a compact 8-uMAX/uSOP package. Its string architecture guarantees monotonicity — every code step produces a unique output voltage, which is the baseline requirement for closed-loop control and calibration applications. Settling time is 18 µs typical, so the DAC can update the analog output at roughly 55 kHz without waiting for the output to stabilize. That is fast enough for most servo loops, audio-level trimming, and automated test equipment channel updates.
Single-supply rail and industrial temperature range
This simplifies the power tree and reduces decoupling capacitor count on a mixed-signal board. The 8-uMAX/uSOP footprint is 3 mm wide, fitting tight channel spacing on a 4-layer board.
SPI/DSP interface and linearity specs
Data is written via a standard SPI or DSP-compatible serial interface. The 16-bit word loads in one frame, and the output updates on the rising edge of the chip-select signal. Multiple DACs can share the same bus with individual chip-select lines. Integral nonlinearity is ±1.2 LSB max, differential nonlinearity ±0.25 LSB max. The DNL figure guarantees no missing codes at 16-bit resolution — every digital input maps to a distinct analog output within the specified error band.
