Ratings that matter for the BOM
Temperature coefficient of 50 ppm/°C keeps the resistance stable across the -40°C to 85°C industrial range. For a trimming application in a power supply or sensor bias circuit, this drift is low enough that the set-point stays within a few tenths of a percent over temperature. The ±25% absolute tolerance on the end-to-end resistance means the exact tap voltage at any given code will vary part-to-part — acceptable for ratiometric trimming, not for a precision reference divider without calibration.
Package and mounting
The part is offered in an 8-lead TSSOP or MSOP package (3.00 mm body width), supplied in tube. The supplier device package is designated 8-uMAX/uSOP. Surface-mount assembly is standard; the small footprint leaves room for adjacent passives on a dense board. No special thermal management is needed — the 50 kΩ element self-heats negligibly at typical bias currents.
Lifecycle and sourcing
The MAX5160LEUA+ is an active part per the manufacturer's product status. It is ROHS3 compliant.
