SPI interface and fault diagnostics
Control goes over an SPI interface — a single 4-wire bus handles all eight channels, with a 1:8 input-to-output ratio meaning one serial frame addresses every output. On-chip fault protection includes fixed current limiting, open-load detection, and over-temperature shutdown — the Status Flag output pulls low to signal a fault condition, so the host MCU can poll or interrupt on it. The input type is non-inverting, so a logic-high on the SPI data bit turns the corresponding output on — no inversion logic to account for in firmware.
Package and rework considerations
A stencil aperture covering 60-80% of the pad area with a single centre opening avoids solder voiding under reflow. Pin 1 is marked by a dimple on the package top — the QFN footprint is symmetric enough that without that mark a 180-degree rotation is possible during hand placement. Check orientation against the datasheet pad layout before reflow.
Active production and sourcing posture
RoHS3 compliant per the manufacturer's declaration, with no exemptions that would complicate EU or UKCA market entry.
