The MAX4896ATP+T from Maxim Integrated is an 8-channel low-side power driver designed for driving relays, solenoids, and other inductive or resistive loads. Each of the eight N-channel outputs can sink up to 410 mA continuously, with a typical on-resistance of 3 ohms that keeps dissipation manageable on a 20-pin TQFN with exposed pad. The SPI interface handles channel control and status readback, including open-load detection, current limiting, and over-temperature fault reporting. A dedicated Status Flag output gives a hardware interrupt for fault conditions without polling the SPI bus.
