Active production — no end-of-life watch needed
The MAX4758ETX+: ROHS3 compliant with no exemptions, so it clears global RoHS enforcement without special handling or documentation riders.
Four DPDT switches in a 2:2 mux topology
The MAX4758ETX+ integrates four independent DPDT (double-pole, double-throw) switches, each configured as a 2:2 multiplexer/demultiplexer — meaning each switch routes two signal paths simultaneously between two common ports. 850 mOhm maximum on-resistance keeps the voltage drop under 8.5 mV per mA of signal current, which is low enough for precision analog signal routing without calibration or gain-stage compensation. Channel-to-channel on-resistance matching is held to 100 mOhm max — this matters when the part is used in balanced audio or differential signal chains where gain matching between channels is critical.
Switching speed and signal integrity
Turn-on time is 140 ns max, turn-off is 50 ns max — fast enough for audio crosspoint switching, relay replacement, and low-frequency multiplexing, but not intended for high-speed digital buses like SPI or I²C at full clock rate. Crosstalk is -90 dB at 100 kHz, providing excellent channel-to-channel isolation for audio-frequency analog signals. The -3 dB bandwidth of 50 MHz confirms the part is designed for clean analog pass-through, not digital pulse trains. Charge injection is 40 pC typical — moderate for this class of switch. In sample-and-hold or DAC output switching, this level can produce a millivolt-level glitch on the hold capacitor; a downstream buffer or settling-time allowance in the acquisition window handles it.
Supply flexibility and leakage
Off-leakage current is 4 nA max at 25°C, rising with temperature per the usual junction-leakage doubling rule. For a 10 kΩ source impedance, 4 nA produces a 40 µV offset error — negligible in most audio and instrumentation paths. Channel capacitance is 180 pF off (source) and 300 pF off (drain) — these values, combined with the 850 mOhm on-resistance, set the bandwidth ceiling. The 50 MHz -3 dB point is consistent with a 300 pF load into 50 Ω.
36-TQFN with exposed pad
The package is surface-mount, suited for automated assembly in dense mixed-signal boards. This covers factory-floor enclosures, outdoor telecom cabinets, and test equipment without requiring the wider automotive or military temp range.
