Dual SPST-NC switch for high-speed analog signal routing
The MAX4732EUA+ from Analog Devices is a dual single-pole single-throw normally-closed (SPST-NC) analog switch designed for routing high-frequency signals up to 300 MHz in test equipment, communications infrastructure, and data acquisition front-ends. Each channel presents a maximum on-resistance of 25 Ohm with 200 mOhm channel-to-channel matching, keeping insertion loss uniform across both paths.
Bandwidth and crosstalk for signal integrity
The -3 dB bandwidth of 300 MHz means the switch passes a 10 MHz clock with less than 0.1 dB of roll-off, and the -108 dB crosstalk at 1 MHz isolates the two channels so that a 1 Vpp signal on one side couples less than 4 µV into the other — critical for multiplexing sensitive analog inputs. Charge injection of 7.5 pC sets the glitch energy when the switch opens; in a sample-and-hold feeding a 10-bit ADC with a 10 pF hold cap, this injects roughly 0.75 mV of pedestal error — a consideration for the downstream offset budget.
The 8-uMAX/uSOP package (3.00 mm width) fits tight PCB layouts; the 85 ns turn-on and 45 ns turn-off times allow the switch to settle before the next ADC conversion cycle at sample rates up to several megahertz.
